Resource 5% Annual Donation |
Did you know that Resource Work Cooperative donates 5% of its profits annually to causes chosen by our workers? Here is a thank-you letter we recently received for our donation to a school in PNG, with 2 photos attached.

Dear Resource,
Thank you for your help and thanks again for your donation.
A part of our appeal was linking the school with health care officials so the children could get check-ups. The Australian Defence Force have visited and treated minor cuts and coughs and performed ear, nose, throat, and general checks. They were vaccinated against tuberculosis, tetanus and received treatment for worms. Colgate Palmolive has been to conduct dental checks who also did hand washing awareness. The students were given tooth brushes, toothpaste and hand soap for washing hands. As you can see they are very happy with their toothbrushes! This is made possible because of people like you, so thank you!
Warm regards, Alicia

Resource Work Cooperative is now recycling phones through the PhoneCycle program. PhoneCycle purchases old mobile phones to raise money for not-for-profits and charities, and share Resource's commitment to reuse as a first option for electrical items saved from landfill. We are excited to partner with this innovative organisation, and all funds raised will go towards supporting the projects and community events of Resource. For more information about the PhoneCycle program, see www.phonecycle.com.au. To have your phone securely recycled, bring it to the Resource Tip Shop on McRobies Rd, South Hobart.

Resource, in conjunction with the National Prison Book Program, has recently begun donating books to the Risdon prison and the Mary Hutchinson women's prison. Through the program, Resource hopes to channel some of the books we salvage and receive from public donations to these important prisons education programs.
Risdon prison also runs a 'Reading Together' program. Pioneered in the UK, it involves inmates recording children's stories onto CDs. The CD and the storybook are then sent to the inmate's home where the child can hear their parent reading while following the book's storyline. Resource supports this worthy initiative by donating Children's books to the prison. If you have books you wish to donate please contact Resource Work Cooperative –
