Resource Work Co-operative is a not-for-profit, self-funding worker cooperative employing twenty-six people. Our income is derived from the sale of reusable goods salvaged from the McRobies Gully Waste Management Centre, South Hobart, Tasmania, through two outlets, the Resource Tip Shop, and the Resource Collectables Shop.

At the beginning of 2010, Resource completed a major deconstruction project of two buildings, which meant demolishing two buildings and reusing or recycling 98% of all materials. For this Resource received the Small Business Sustainability Award category and the special overall Ministers Award for Environmental Excellence in the Tasmanian Awards for Environmental Excellence 2010 judged by Environment Protection Agency Tasmania.

Resource Work Cooperative formed in 1993 and has been operating the South Hobart Tip Shop since 1995 and the CBD Collectables Shop since 2000.

Resource has also been hosting the annual Art From Trash community exhibition in various locations since 1994.

In 2002 Resource organized the hugely successful Welcome to Appleland exhibition at the Carnegie Gallery.
