CLOTHING

Clothes do not have to be washed but we do not want dirty, ripped, stained, soiled, smelly or mouldy clothes. Zips and buttons should work. Vintage military or pre-1950s clothing we would expect to usually have more damage or be in poorer condition and will be accepted.

Generally we do not take underwear but if you want to donate – please wash first!

Similarly with blankets, sheets, doonas/ quilts, towels, etc. – we will only accept clean ones.

We are less keen on overly daggy and 1980s clothing – in particular, that shoulder-pads Dynasty look.

All types of shoes will be accepted (from stilettos to steel caps, children’s gumboots to ski boots) but they must be in pairs and in decent condition i.e. without holes or mould and must not be excessively dirty, smelly or worn (i.e. to the point of been able to see the imprint of your toes). They must also have workable zips/ straps as well as attached soles and heels.

Think “if they were someone else’s would I be happy to put my foot in them?”

All bags must be in good condition (i.e. with working zips/ clasps, not ripped or dirty, with usable handles and hinges). The only exception is vintage trunks/ shipping cases, which will be accepted in poorer condition.
